We cannot talk about Olio di Canino without mentioning the Archibusacci family. In fact, our family has been an uninterruptedly active presence in the local oil sector for over a hundred years.
The company was founded at the end of the 19th century by Arturo Archibusacci. Our ancestor was an enterprising Livorno native from a family of “oliandoli and charcoal burners” who moved to Canino and decided to concentrate on the production of oil. He rented various local oil mills including the historic one - owned by the Torlonia princes - in the locality of La Ferriera, powered by water energy. He activated a series of productive commercial contacts, above all with Tuscany, which were the necessary premise for the purchase in 1935 of the current oil mill in via del Boschetto, one of the first in the Viterbo area to be powered by electricity.
