Casale Massucci is in the heart of the ancient Etruscan land and is 2 km from the village.
About 150 metres from the Casale you can find the ancient Via America (III AD) where it’s possible to go by foot or by bike to the Natural Oasis of Pian Sant’Angelo or take a walk to the Etruscan dam Ponte del Ponte through the canyon up to the inscriptions on the “Tomba del Capo” where you can also admire the countryside.
The Casale was built in 1930s; the “conservationist” restructuring has made for a welcoming environment thanks to spacious rooms and the living has a kitchenette where it’s possible to prepare something to eat with the local oil and wine.
During good weather you can eat your meals or read your books in the big garden under the olive trees or under the big arch, accompanied by the chirping of Cardinals or the strange sounds of the Upupa which have their nests in the area or you can visit the famous Etruscan ruins and the medieval churches of Corchiano.
For horse lovers the Casale has an agreement with two local stables reacheable by either foot or bicycle where you can book lesson or take a ride in the surrounding area.
From Corchiano (the ancient Etruscan city of FESCENNIUM) you can visit many local places (Viterbo, Orte ...) organize river escursion on the Tevere, go to the Vigo lake or relax in the hot therapeutic waters of the thermal pools of Papi or of Orte.
