The Campomoro farm is a small family-run business that operates in the fruit and vegetable sector in the Alta Tuscia area, located on the hills of Lake Bolsena, in a very fertile area with a particular microclimate that makes the land suitable for growing vegetables and legumes.
Our goal is to obtain high quality products with absolute respect for nature and the environment.
Within a few years we have expanded the surface of our company and added the cultivation of legumes to the cultivation of potatoes. Our commitment has been to research and select the ancient native seeds that risked extinction. The best-known varieties of typical legumes are mainly four: the Purgatory bean, the 'straight furrow' chickpea, the second or stubble bean, the Onano lentil. The climate mitigated by the presence of the lake, the loose soils of volcanic origin rich in magnesium and potassium, give the legumes a delicate flavour, a thin skin and small dimensions that allow them to be cooked in a very short time.
Since 2006 we have opened a store in the most evocative town of Tuscia: Civita di Bagnoregio. The shop is located inside the small ancient village, and in the adjacent room, visitors have the opportunity to taste our legumes perhaps accompanied by a good glass of wine.
