At Vetralla, in locality La Branda, at the slopes of Monte Fogliano, just 10 km from Vico lake and 60 km from Roma, on the Via Cassia and the ancient Via Francigena, the Organic Country House “Podere La Branda” is located.
Organic products, open air activities, didactic farm, rural ospitality in ancient houses, into the Monti Cimini’s woods frame and the Tuscia olive oil plantations, watching the surrealistic sunsets on Forocassio.
La Branda is the name of this farm since 1400 as written on the ancient maps. Maybe the name come by latin BRANDEUM, because of ancient production of pieces of tissue in the area
You’ll be welcomed in the ancient cellar and hayloft which were created in stone and volcanic tuff. They reveal themselves, telling stories of other times, of rural arts and traditions...of barnyard festivities and popular rites...on a background of the Forocassio and its fiery sunsets.
The old farmhouses, which were once used as shelters for animals and as areas to store products and tools, have been finely restored and rebuilt. Five independent apartments have been obtained, each providing all sorts of comforts and still bearing up the original characteristic walls of local stone. You can also have the opportunity to relax by having a soothing swim in our pool with a wonderful view on our olive plantations. For our weekly guests there are some fresh vegetables and fruit from our organic hortum.
The apartments have been called as the olive kind and some animal that find here their natural shelter; each apartment has a peculiar and panoramic view on olives or on the garden park so that you can make a natural dream along your stay. At night you can see the stars and try to touch them, as they seem so close!
