Acquapendente between history and street art

Meeting point at the Torre Julia de Jacopo, Visitors Centre of the Acquapendente Municipality .
A guide will lead your customers along the typical alleys of Acquapendente, a lively village with sound historical roots , where modern art meets
the masterpieces of the past , such as the Pugnaloni

Acquapendente underground
A guide will accompany your customers into the mysterious bowels of Acquapendente. We will visit the Basilica of the Holy Sepulcher and its crypt (of
great historical and artistic value as it is the most faithful representation of that of Jerusalem, now lost).
Visit to the ancient underground prisons, where you can still read the writings and testimonies engraved on the walls by the prisoners.

Along the "Scialimata " on the trail of Mother Nature - Torre Alfina

Start from Il Podernovo or Sant’Antonio Farmhouse
Hike along «La Scialimata » trail with a guide of L’Ape Regina.
Photo opportunity at the Devil’s Bridge and the Ancient Water Mill
Possibility to study and reproduce plaster models of animal footprints such as wolves along the Subissone Creek.

Acquapendente: the Pugnaloni, a symbol of freedom

A millenial tradition of freedom against oppression, born in the year 1166 aC and still celebrated nowadays every third Sunday of May through wide mosaics of flowers and leaves made by groups that represent the different quarters of Acquapendente .
Experience includes a visit to the Civic Museum and the nearby Holy Sepulchre Basilica where the Pugnaloni are kept ) with a broad explanation of the local tradition and how the Pugnaloni are realised . Visit to the Romanesque crypt
Walking along the Via Francigena that crosses Acquapendente we’ll arrive to the elegant central square of the village and to the close civic library where one of the most beautiful Pugnaloni is kept
